Growing up, Dr. Ramgoolam, often referred to as Dr. Ram, has always had a passion for medicine. Now as a board-certified Pediatrician, he is proud to be able to provide for the health and wellness of babies, children, adolescents and young adults.
“It’s a delight to watch children grow and to help parents anticipate each stage of development,” notes Dr. Ramgoolam. “I love getting to know my patients and find it deeply rewarding to provide quality care to healty children and helping to restore good health to children who have been ill.”
Dr. Ramgoolam received his medical degree from the University of the West Indies in Mona, Jamaica. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY. Following his residency, he completed a fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases done jointly at the Tulane and Louisiana State Universities (LSU) in New Orleans, LA. He has been working in the Mississippi Delta for the past seven years where he provided medical care to the underserved children there, his motto being “every little thing, is gonna be all right”.
In addition, Dr. Ramgoolam is actively involved with many professional medical societies including, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society of America (PIDS) and the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA).
Making their home in Southern Pines, Dr. Ramgoolam is joined by his wife Anu, a registered dietitian, and their two sons, Siva 6 years and Sohan 17 months.
